What's is Campus Watch?

Massachusetts Campus Watch is a cooperative effort to encourage crime prevention practices by students, faculty, staff, and campus law enforcement to further insure a safe campus environment.

Why is there a need for Campus Watch?

Campus Watch is a program designed to introduce the practice of preventing personal and property crime while living or working on campus.

When people enter the campus environment they tend to feel safe and forget that crime can occur on a college campus just as it does in the outside world. Campus Watch is a comprehensive approach to address "potential" safety and security issues that effect college campuses.

Campus Watch Goals

  • Implement guidelines for identifying and reporting suspicious activity to a campus public safety department.
  • Create a team approach between the community and the public safety department to support campus community policing initiatives.
  • Promote heath education programs to support substance abuse programs.
  • Provide a forum to address quality of life issues related to public safety within the campus environment
