Domestic violence shouldn't happen to anybody. Ever. Period.  But it does—and when it does, there’s help. Maybe you’ve lived with abuse, maybe experienced it just once; maybe you work or live next to someone who is being abused right now.

As many as four million women in this country suffer some kind of violence at the hands of their husbands or boyfriends each year. Very few will tell anyone - a friend, a relative, a neighbor, or the police.  Victims of domestic violence come from all walks of life, all cultures, all income groups, all ages, all religions. They share feelings of helplessness, isolation, guilt, fear, and shame.

The Department of Public Safety stands ready to assist any person who is a victim of domestic or family violence.  Your not alone, call the department immediately if you are in need of police services.  We have the personnel and resources to assist you.
